Small and medium-sized business

The amount of small and medium-sized business in the calculation for 10 ths. of population as per the results of 2014 increased by 0,5 % and it is 789,8 units.

Administration of Perm city implements actions on informational, financial and educational support of small and medium-sized business in order to stimulate small and medium-sized business.

Educational seminars and trainings for businessmen from professional business coaches regularly take place in Perm urban business-incubator. One can get free of charge consultation on franchising, writing business plan, registration of individual entrepreneurs through Internet, accounting, taxation, current programs of state support of entrepreneurs and others here. Property support is provided to residents of business-incubator: the workplace, equipped with Internet and telephony, the opportunity to use conference room, meeting room is provided on favourable terms. 

More than 100 educational events, among which there are master-classes, lectures, seminars on creation and promotion of own business, legal, accounting and marketing consultations were conducted in Perm urban business-incubator in 2014. Over 4,5 thousand of beginners and current  entrepreneurs used services of Perm business-incubator in 2014 that is 18,4 % more than in 2013.

Distinctive peculiarity of business-incubator work in 2014 was implementation of two projects on its base. Thus, the Centre of subcontracting was created in Perm at the beginning of the year, it is the single area where large industrial enterprises can place their orders for working out or making products and representatives of small and medium-sized business can get access to these orders.  The first contracts between entrepreneurs were set up in collaboration with Perm Centre of subcontracting. 16 production orders were placed on the site of the centre, 11 of them have been completed. The sum of the fulfilled contracts is over 10 mln. rubles. Creation of centre of subcontracting is a unique practice for Russia and it continues series of actions of the city Administration, directed to contribution to development of Perm production complex.   

The branch of urban business-incubator was open in Pushkina street, 66 in December this year. It has clearly expressed specialisation in IT-projects and robotics. The project “Maker space”, implemented together with Perm national research polytechnic university (PNRPU), took one of the central places in new business-incubator. “Maker space” is a particular workshop - a creative space for inventors and innovators. They can conduct experiments and implement their ideas here. Actions in IT sphere and robotics are already conducted today together with “Maker space”. 

As per the results of that work in 2014 Perm team of developers of games “Brainy Studio”, consisting of students and postgraduates of PNRPU who had begun their activity in the urban business-incubator, was one of the winners of international competition of IT-start-ups - “Microsoft Imagine Cup” that took place in USA.  Perm residents won in the nomination “Games” and obtained grant for development of start-up in the amount of 70 ths. dollars.
